Glutathione plays a role in aquaculture
In aquaculture, the application effects of glutathione mainly focus on four core dimensions: growth performance, stress resistance, product quality, and liver and intestinal health.
1. Promote growth and enhance feed utilization efficiency
By protecting the liver's metabolic function and improving the absorption efficiency of the intestinal mucosa, it can increase the food intake and feed conversion rate of aquatic animals (such as fish, shrimp and crab).
Adding 50-100mg/kg of glutathione to the feed of tilapia and white shrimp can increase the weight gain rate by 10%-15% and shorten the breeding cycle.
2. Enhance ability to resist stress and diseases
- Resistance to environmental stress: Eliminate reactive oxygen species generated by water pollution (ammonia nitrogen, nitrite, heavy metals), sudden changes in water temperature, and transportation vibrations, reduce gill and liver damage, and lower stress-induced mortality.
- Enhance disease resistance: By regulating the REDOX balance within the body, it strengthens the resistance to bacterial diseases (such as vibriosis and enteritis), especially suitable for high-density or poor water quality aquaculture environments.
3. Improve quality of aquatic products
- Extend the shelf life: Inhibit the oxidation of fat and protein in the muscle, delay the body color changes of fish and shrimp after death (such as the whitening of white shrimp muscle and the darkening of fish body color) and the generation of unpleasant odors, and extend the shelf life.
- Optimize appearance and taste: Maintain the vividness of the body color of ornamental fish (such as koi) and reduce stress-induced fading; Improve the muscle tenderness of farmed fish and reduce the risk of meat fibrosis.
4. Protect liver and intestinal health
- Liver protection: As a "detoxifier" for the liver, it combines endotoxins (drug residues, heavy metals) and promotes their excretion, reducing liver damage problems such as liver enlargement and fatty liver.
- Intestinal care: Maintain the integrity of intestinal mucosal cells, enhance the function of the intestinal immune barrier, reduce the incidence of enteritis, and is especially suitable for use in combination with high-protein or high-fat feed.
